Tools and materials required for assembly

    • Soldering iron

    • Solder

    • Nippers

    • Radio Pliers

    • 2 AA batteries

How to make a game of "Candle Panic"

The parts are soldered in order from the lowest to the highest.

Resistance

Only one type of resistance is available. There is no orientation.

Diodes

Diodes have their own orientation. Mount the diode so that the blue band on the body of the diode points upwards.

All 20 of them are facing the same orientation.

Microcontrollers

There is a orientation. Mount it so that the concave is facing up.

IC

There is a orientation. Mount it so that the concave is facing up.

Switch

There is no orientation (polarity).  Mount it at SW1.

There is no orientation (polarity).  Mount it at SW2.

LED

There is a orientation (polarity).  The longer leg is the positive, and it should be mounted so that it faces the right side of the PCB.  It is mounted all 10 of them in the same orientation (long leg facing the right side).

Speaker

There is a orientation (polarity). Mount it so that the plus mark is on the left side.

Rubber feet

Turn the PCB over and stick the three rubber feet in the position shown in the picture above.

Done!!!

Put two AA batteries in the battery box and turn it on.  The LED lights up and the game starts.

What's wrong?

If the LED doesn't glow

・The orientation of the LED may be wrong. Please check if the orientation is correct.

・The orientation of the microcontroller and the IC may be wrong.  Please check if the orientation is correct. The recess is facing up.

・There is a possibility of defective soldering of the resistor. Try re-soldering resistor R1.

If the buzzer does not sound

The microcontroller may be facing the wrong way.  Please check if the orientation is correct. The recess is facing up.

Does not respond to light

The orientation of the diode may be wrong. Please check if the orientation is correct.  The blue band drawn on the diode body faces upward.

Shine the light source LED light from directly above the light-receiving LED.  It may not respond when shined from an angle.

If the LED light is dark, it will not respond. Replace the batteries in the LED light.

When rewriting a program

The program is already written in the kit's microcontroller, but if you want to modify it, you can connect mbed kitty as follows.

mbed kitty - candle panic
SWCLK --------------- SWCLK
SWDIO --------------- SWDIO
nRESET --------------- nR
PIO0_1 --------------- GND

Please import the program from here and use it.
